ARTIST’S STATEMENT

For me, making art is like going through the rabbit’s hole. The white canvas offers me an open portal, a window to create inner landscapes and confront the observer with the realism of the imagination in a tangible experience.

My oil and mixed medium paintings are figurative, detailes and surreal with elements of Magic realism from the tradition of Latino American writers and visual artists.
For me the work of art is a blend of a concept and aesthetic proposal. The human being has always been the subject matter in the composition of my works, the human being not only as a physical form but also as a multi dimensional being.

My art and travels are interwoven in my work. I want my paintings to show an universal vision without conflict of identity because as an artist, I wish to express the links that make us universally connected despite our cultural diferences.
